Candi Dugasis an award-winning, Atlanta-based writer(many developed with Working Title Playwrights), producer(candi dugas & associates), and cultural organizer(C4 Atlanta-trained). She is excited for her debut work with Marietta’s NEW Theatre in the Square to be Dominique Morisseau’s provocatively layered piece about our country’s school-to-prison Pipeline–especially, to work again with Mia and Tanya. As the founder of Broadway BrunchTM(,candi particularly treasures first-timeopportunitiesto create art in collaborative contexts with a-mazing talent like Antonio, Candace, Darian, Jermal, Michelle, Jason, and Audrey! It’s another chance to bask in art’s beauty, and to become an even better writer. candi’s first screenplay, Desire’s Kiss, won Best Feature Screenplay at the Urban MediaMakers Film Festival (2013). Currently, she’s developing a stage play honoring her father and other misfits (including herself), pitching her ready-to-produce scripts, and planning for the next season of Broadway BrunchTM. candi’s a clergyperson with the Church Within A Church Movement, and a graduate of Columbia Theological Seminary, Gammon Seminary/Interdenominational Theological Center, and the University of Florida.
